Just Spotify seems to have a problem. Maybe that will get some sort of response or fix from Google. Their interview process is tailored mainly towards those who are jack of all trades, master of none.

I think its some kind of power management issue and I think its something which came down in the March security update. Won't spend a dime on another google product, thanks.

Music stops playing randomly

Why on earth was this topic flagged as Resolved. I have the very latest app, and I can reproduce the problem consistently. Here is what I have found. I am almost positive the problem is related to their Spotify Connect feature. I listen to most of my music on my Alexa echo devices, which are connected to my Hi-Fi system. So far I only get this problem to occur when playing to any of the Alexa devices via the Spotify app. If I switch to play on the local computer of phone, then the problem seems to go away. I can reproduce this consistently in my Windows laptop and in my Android phone. If I hit Play, sometimes I can hear a very short blip, as if the song is starting to play, but it stops right away and the button switches from Pause to Play. If I keep hitting Play I can mostly get it to start playing the current song after about ten retries, but then it stops when the song ends, and the next song never starts. I have messed with the crossfade options to no avail. Heck, the crossfading doesn't even do anything, as far as I can tell. In your shoes, I'd have started a new thread but spotify randomly stops playing android worries : I'm a bit confused as Amazon Echo is a connect device so you aren't streaming from your mobile - the Echo streams direct from spotify. It might help to pin down where things are going wrong if you try the following: Close spotify on all devices except your android. Start playing a long playlist via connect from your android then force stop spotify and see if the Echo keeps playing. Resist the temptation to fire up spotify anywhere while testing. Let me know what happens. Hi Joe, thanks for the reply. I will sure keep your instructions to try the next time this happens. Right now things seems to be working fine, after I rebooted the Echo device to which I was connecting. Weird, because the Echo device wasn't giving me any trouble or signs that anything was wrong with it. I could play music on it from Pandora and Amazon without a hitch. Switching back to playing on any of the Echo devices would bring the issue back. I still don't know how or why restarting one of the Echo devices seemed to fix the problem temporarily, but apparently it did. So, for now things seem somewhat happy, which is good because we are getting ready to do some celebrating around here. You have a happy new year Joe, and thanks again. I will reply if I find anything new. Connect has never supported spotify radio as far as I recall. I seem to remember that this was down to the fact that the version of spotify made available for hardware platforms did not include the radio function but, looking atthis may have changed. Anyway, when you use connect to play radio, what usually happens is that the tracks listed in the play queue are added to the connect device but they are not refreshed so the music will stop once the last track in the queue is played. I'm having the same problem now which I never had before and I've been premium for a few years now. I have a Xiaomi Rednote 4, tried a clean reinstall, deleted cache, old files and so on several times. It sometimes just stops playing, but mostly shuts down. I have plenty of space available and nothing seems to work. Not very happy with paying £10 for an app that doesn't serve the purpose. Hi, I'm having exactly the same problem, and I'm spotify randomly stops playing android that is not related to Alexa, because I was having this problem before installing Echo. So I think this problem is related in some way to Spotify Connect because started to happen when I installed the libspotify key in my raspberry. Please Spotify Developers take care of this issue is happening since a long time Thanks hi, no unfortunately not, i had to move to another solution and trash the devices, sad because i thought they where really cool and they also worked very well at the beginning.

Close the registry editor window and reboot the computer. I've attempted restart, clearing cache, neither helped. You could be the best Android dev anyone's ever seen and fail a google interview because you didn't know the answer to a problem only backend devs or web devs would ever have to deal with. And still the error remains. Please let us know if this does not work. We'll continue to provide updates when available and monitor feedback on this thread.
